Young Egyptologists unearth ancient wonders

Year 5 pupils at Herons’ Moor Academy have become Egyptologists, studying all things ancient Egypt with the help of Egyptian Ali.
Egyptian Ali is an experienced primary school teacher with an MA in Egyptology. Combining her teaching expertise with a passion for ancient Egypt, she delivers carefully designed Key Stage 2 workshops directly to schools, bringing history to life for young learners.
During her visit, Ali inspired pupils through a series of engaging workshops, introducing them to the fascinating world of the pharaohs, pyramids and mummies. She also brought along an impressive collection of artefacts from the period, giving pupils a rare opportunity to explore objects connected to one of history’s most remarkable civilisations.
Adding to the excitement, pupils were able to dress up and immerse themselves in ancient Egyptian culture, making the learning experience both memorable and fun.
A spokesperson for the academy said: “The workshops were an incredible experience for our Year 5 pupils. Egyptian Ali’s enthusiasm and knowledge brought ancient Egypt to life in a way that captured everyone’s imagination.
“The children loved examining the artefacts, dressing up and discovering fascinating facts about this important period in history. It was a wonderful opportunity to enrich their learning and inspire a love of history.”
