Pupils enjoy autumn forest school adventure

Year 2 pupils at Herons’ Moor Academy became explorers of their natural surroundings as they embarked on a memorable Forest School adventure.
While carefully exploring the undergrowth, the pupils discovered a frog in its natural habitat. Taking care not to disturb it, they observed the frog closely and marvelled at how well it had camouflaged itself among the natural surroundings.
The excitement continued as pupils explored the autumnal environment, with one pupil enthusiastically declaring: “Best day ever!”
The children also enjoyed searching for conkers and discovering the treasures of the season, including carefully breaking the conkers out of their shells.
A spokesperson for Herons’ Moor Academy said: “Forest School provides our pupils with a wonderful opportunity to learn beyond the classroom and develop a real appreciation for the natural world.
“It was fantastic to see the children so engaged and excited as they explored, discovered and learned together. Experiences like this create lasting memories while helping pupils develop curiosity, confidence and respect for the environment.”
