Herons’ Moor supporting phonics learning with families

Staff at Herons’ Moor Academy would like to extend a massive thank you to all the families who attended the recent phonics teaching session with their Reception children.
The session provided a valuable opportunity to develop a shared understanding of how young children learn to read and write through their growing knowledge of phonics. Families explored how phonics supports children to:
- Encourage reading and writing
- Build early literacy skills
- Foster a love of reading at home
- Strengthen connections between school, parents, and carers
A spokesperson for the Academy said: “We are delighted with the fantastic turnout and the enthusiasm shown by our families.
“Working together ensures that every child has the strongest possible start in their reading journey.
“We truly appreciate the support of our parents and carers.”
Herons’ Moor Academy looks forward to continuing to work closely with families to support children’s early education and nurture confident, happy readers.
