Herons’ Moor pupils explore future careers

Pupils at Herons’ Moor Academy spent an inspiring day looking to the future and exploring the exciting range of careers they might one day pursue.

The day was brought to life by a fantastic team of volunteers and carried the powerful message that it’s never too early to start thinking about future pathways.

Throughout the day, pupils engaged in a wide variety of activities designed to spark imagination and develop employability skills:

  • Practical workshops brought different careers to life through hands-on experiences.
  • Speed networking sessions enabled pupils to explore a range of roles and interact with professionals from diverse industries.
  • Pre-planned lessons helped pupils discover and reflect on different career paths.

Pupils embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm and curiosity. One standout moment came when a student confidently quizzed the Data Manager of the school’s parent trust the Cabot Learning Federation (CLF) about data protection – an impressive example of the thoughtful conversations the day inspired.

The event was a resounding success, laying a strong foundation for future career learning and leaving pupils feeling excited about their potential.

Craig Jordan, CLF Careers Education, Employability and Enterprise (CEE) Lead, said: “I would like to thank the volunteers, staff at Herons’ Moor, and most importantly the pupils for embracing this day.”

Georgie Tinker, Principal of Herons’ Moor Academy, added: “It was incredible to see our pupils so engaged and curious about their futures.

“Events like these show just how powerful career education can be in helping children imagine and shape their aspirations.”
