Herons’ Moor pupils craft Greek pots

Year 6 pupils at Herons’ Moor Academy enjoyed a hands-on lesson today as they completed their learning about the lifestyle of the Ancient Greeks by creating their own artistic clay pots.

Drawing inspiration from ancient Greek pottery, the children demonstrated their creativity and imagination, coming up with a variety of unique and impressive designs. The activity helped bring their history topic to life while allowing pupils to develop their artistic skills.

Once the clay pots have fully dried, the pupils will have the opportunity to decorate and paint them, adding the finishing touches to their creations.

A spokesperson for the academy said: “Our Year 6 pupils thoroughly enjoyed this creative activity, which provided a fantastic opportunity to combine history with art.

“They showed great enthusiasm and produced some wonderful designs inspired by their learning about Ancient Greece.

“We are looking forward to seeing the finished pots once they have been painted and decorated.”
