Heron’s Moor inspires future ambitions

Children at Heron’s Moor Academy were given an exciting glimpse into their future careers during a highly successful careers day.

The event, entitled Inspiring the Future Day, was organised by school’s Principal alongside her staff team and supported by a dedicated team of volunteers.

The goal was to show children that it is never too early to begin thinking about their future aspirations.

Thanks to the enthusiasm and expertise of volunteers from a variety of professions, the day was transformed into an engaging and inspiring experience for all involved.

Throughout the day, learners took part in a range of activities designed to broaden their understanding of the world of work. Practical workshops allowed children to explore different careers through hands-on experiences, while speed networking sessions gave them the opportunity to meet professionals from diverse industries and develop valuable employability skills.

Pupils embraced every activity with enthusiasm, curiosity and confidence.

One of the day’s standout moments saw a group of children working with F1’s James Dornor on engineering, while younger children had the opportunity to sit behind the wheel of a recycling lorry.

Others learned life-saving CPR techniques with paramedics, giving them a real insight into careers in the emergency services.

Staff and volunteers were delighted by the level of engagement shown by pupils, whose eagerness to learn highlighted the positive impact of introducing careers education at an early age.

The event was widely regarded as a resounding success, sparking imagination and ambition across the school while strengthening partnerships with local businesses and organisations.

“Inspiring the Future Day gave our pupils the chance to meet incredible role models, ask questions and experience careers they may never have considered before.

“Seeing their excitement, curiosity and confidence grow throughout the day was fantastic, and we are incredibly grateful to all of the volunteers and local organisations who gave their time to inspire the next generation.”
