Herons’ Moor celebrate odd socks day

Pupils at Herons’ Moor Academy have been wearing odd socks to celebrate Odd Socks Day, which marks the start of Anti-Bullying Week.

Every year, Anti-Bullying Week takes place during the third week of November, raising awareness of the bullying experienced by children and young people in schools and elsewhere.

The event at Herons’ Moor Academy is just one of a raft of projects supporting Anti-Bullying Week. Wearing odd socks has been a great way of celebrating how each of us is different and unique.

Principal Georgie Tinker said: “Odd Socks Day is a simple but powerful reminder that our differences should be celebrated.

“It’s wonderful to see our pupils taking part so enthusiastically and showing kindness and respect for one another. Super effort everyone.”
