Herons’ Moor Academy pupils attend birdwatch assembly

Pupils at Herons’ Moor Academy recently participated in an inspiring and educational assembly dedicated to learning about birds and the importance of local wildlife conservation.

The assembly highlighted the significance of the Big Garden Birdwatch, the world’s largest garden wildlife survey.

During the event, a member of staff provided an engaging presentation on the Big Garden Birdwatch, encouraging pupils to observe and appreciate the variety of birds in their own gardens and communities.

Following the presentation, pupils joined in a quiz, testing their knowledge by identifying different species of birds that are commonly spotted in gardens and local green spaces.

A school spokesperson said: “We’re thrilled to see our pupils engaging with the Big Garden Birdwatch initiative.

“Activities like these are not only fun and educational but also help nurture a lifelong appreciation for wildlife and the environment.”
